Personal Trainer Near Me

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions about personal training.

DO YOU MODIFY YOUR WORKOUTS FOR INJURIES?

Absolutely! This is one of the first questions I ask my new personal training clients. I believe in smarter, not harder exercising. If we agree there is room for us to rehabilitate the area, we will incorporate targeted strengthening exercises as well.

CAN A FRIEND JOIN IN ON MY PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION?

Absolutely! If you find that a workout buddy works best for you, then I can also discount the session price for each of you! Please contact me for more details.

HOW MANY SESSIONS PER WEEK DO YOU RECOMMEND?

This depends on the scope of your goals and how quickly you are aiming to achieve them. Most clients train with me 2-4 days per week. 3-4 times per week is optimal to see quicker results. I am also happy to recommend workouts to complete on the days we do not meet.

I AM LOOKING TO BOOK AN AT HOME PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION. WHAT TYPES OF EXERCISE EQUIPMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND I BUY?

A good place to start is:

  • Pair of 5lbs dumbbells

  • Pair of 10lbs dumbbells

  • Pair of 15lbs dumbbells

  • Stability Ball

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A PERSONAL TRAINER AT A REGULAR GYM?

Through my 20+ year tenure in health and fitness I have found the most common difference between a good and great workout is proper form. By booking a personal training session with me at my home gym in Chapel Hill, or delivered to a location of your choosing, you guarantee yourself an expertly guided workout.

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL STRUCTURE OF A PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION WITH YOU?

I often structure my workouts as follows, but with some exceptions, depending on the individual's goal:

  • 10 Minute Warm Up - A strategic combination of dynamic movements and static stretches

  • 40-45 Minute Workout - Short one minute (or less) intervals of strength, balance, core, cardio and corrective exercises.

  • 5-10 Minute Cool Down - This is the best part! Each personal training session concludes with a therapy gun massage and/or cool down stretch.

WHAT IS YOUR COVID PROTOCOL? CAN I REQUEST YOU WEAR A MASK?

Your comfort is my main concern. I am happy to wear a mask during all of our sessions, or when you deem necessary. All of my equipment is cleaned and sanitized between sessions.
